A interpretaçao dos sonhos is the name of one of the three series of photographs by Jorge Molder that, alongside O pequeno mundo and Nao me ten que contar o que seja for, make up the exhibition that will be on view at the Fundación Luis Seoane until October. This is the only Spanish venue to host the exhibition, which first opened in 2009 at the Fundaçao Calouste Gulbenkian in Lisbon, and then travelled to the Paris delegation of that Portuguese foundation in 2010. 77 photographs let the audience into the universe of an artist that uses self-portraits as a tool to experiment with the idea of representation, identity, duplicity and fiction. His work also depicts his interest in philosophy, cinema, literature and psychoanalysis.

The exhibition begins with O pequeno mundo (2004), a project in which Molder puts us inside a fictional office where he portrays himself as an individual isolated in a stark and hostile environment. The audience then goes on into the film influences of the artist in the series Nao me tem que contar seja o que for (2006-2007), where they will find references to the work of David Lynch, Hitchcock, Alan Resnais, Ted Browning… Lastly, A interpretaçao dos sonhos (2009), from which the exhibition gets its name, is a direct reference to the work of Sigmund Freud and to Molder’s oneiric world. He puts the audience face to face with the notion of mortality, fate, the feeling of defencelessness and of one’s otherness.
